One Way Ticket To Hell …And Back

This is why the Iconia trumps the iPad

Hmm, I really hope it’s my eyecandy over indulgence (love the live wallpapers and screen at least at 70%) and not that I have a bad battery. I don’t even use my Iconia regularly- see my sig for where I spend my mobile time, but I almost always have to charge it at the end of the day. Not to mention, there is a fair amount of battery usage when it’s supposed to be in standby so try to remember to leave it in Airplane mode over night and if I don’t think it will be used for awhile.

Now I know I can really eak out max runtime with a very dim screen, boring wallpaper and judicious wireless management, but I don’t think I should have to. I want to turn on my Iconia, see that swirling Shadow galaxy and have it distract me from my task at hand. Plus, running the screen at 50% or less brightness is like watching standard def local access channels on a backlit led tv. If you could share your main settings, I’d be most appreciative. Or if there is a ‘Juice defender’ type app you’re using that allows you the battery life without sacrificing any of the overall experience….

That said, I don’t mind having to charge the Iconia daily. I gives me the Android Tab experience I paid for when I use it (I still contend it’s the best HComb tab available ATM- size, screen, memory, ports, etc.). And now with the better mouse support, I like to have it as my quick access device (I set up up with a wireless logitech mouse and Apple BTooth KB for a very cool little “laptop” ). But since there is no USB charging so I can plug in a car charger or external battery in a pinch and the charger is impossible to use on the road since it’s so short, the Iconia stays home if I don’t have at least 80% battery.
